Liam,There was a report last week, prior to Raul ancnionung he wouldn't resign with Shalke 04, that he had agreed to a 4 year/$48 million deal with a team in Qatar, and subsequently rejecting a bid from the MLS Seattle Sounders. Nothing was mentioned since then, so I guess that was a bust.The way I see it, Raul has shown that he is still capable of contributing to a high profile club. He has expressed his desire to take a lesser role, thus lesser money, to be with his family. Also he stated that he doesn't want to play in Europe. I think the MLS would welcome his superstar status, but there may be too much asked and expected of him. Not exactly the lesser role he wants.I think Manchester United would be a great fit for him. They have the financial stability (Berbatov and Owen rarely play and have been on the books for years) to support players in a lesser role, while giving older players the chance to play as much or as little as they want (Scholes, Giggs), with younger players to make up the difference. Very little would be expected of Raul, he would have a lesser role and have more family time. Also, if there was one person to convince him to stay in Europe, it would be Sir Alex.
